Second, after the T-Moblie/Sprint merger, the pool of numbers TextNow used and how they accessed additional numbers "changed" so that the pool was no longer as deep. This apparently was happening to a large amount of ported numbers. If you didn't use your port-in, it would be recycled. Two things have happened since the beginning of 2020 that have made the recycling problem a headache.įirst, after TextNow simplified there port-in process online, more people started using them to park an inactive number than NumberBarn. But once recycled and chosen by another customer, it was gone. They first started "retiring" numbers for up to 30 days before recycling, giving a customer the chance to reclaim there old number with a couple of emails or an online chat.
Recycling was "loosely" enforced, sometimes up to three months, depending on the area code involved. Number recycling has always been a problem for both TextNow and their customers. If you send a text or make a call once in three weeks, even from your PC's browser, you continue to keep your number.
Un-used numbers are recycled to help keep TextNow free for everyone. If you haven't used your TextNow number between "billing periods" where your receive your $0 invoice, your phone number, not your account, will expire.
You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.Yes, and the message is somewhat miss leading. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter? If there is one available it will show when you click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available in your country. (use the guest option if you can't log in). Paypal phones are mostly non operational since covid but sometimes you get lucky. you another way and then add your new phone number to your account.Ĭontact options for Paypal at the moment are. If that does not work then you would need to contact customer services so that they can i.d.
Changing the password a few times sometimes works as it can bypass the phone verification. Trying again another day when sometimes you can get in without doing the verification and then change the number.ĥ. Trying another browser that may let you in without phone verification (then change it when you have logged in).Ĥ.
I do not know what else to Downloading the app to see if it will let you in to change / update it in the settings.ģ. Once I type in my password, I'm hit with the 2-step verification and never receive the text so that I can log in completely. I need to change the TextNow number on my 2-step verification to another phone number or change it to an email, but I can't do something as simple as that because I cannot log in. That's very worrying because I have no idea how I'm going to get this fixed without being able to contact an actual person from Paypal to help me through it. I have come across MANY posts like this and to be honest, most of them do not have responses.
It's been 3 months and I can't touch my money at all. I am STILL locked out of my account and it's December. I have already changed my Paypal password, called the Paypal number (can't ever get anyone on that number at all), made sure Paypal's short number wasn't blocked, etc. Yet somehow in mid-September, that changed and I no longer receive the verification texts. I've been a member of Paypal for years and my TextNow number has worked for at least the past year with no problem at all.
I have been locked out of my account since mid-September, when all of a sudden PayPal's verification texts to my TextNow number stopped working.
